Bio
Fiona is a retired track and field athlete who competed for both the
United Kingdom and Italy in long jump. Her career kicked off in 1986
after she placed 8th at the World Junior Championships, representing
Great Britain. In 1988 she competed at the Olympics for the first time
and placed 6th. After the 1993 World Championship, Fiona married an
Italian athlete and became an Italian citizen. Therefore, from 1994, Fiona
represented Italy. Fiona won the World Championships twice and holds
two Olympic silver medals.
She retired from competitions in 2006 and started a new, equally
successful career in show business. Fiona starred in multiple campaigns
of Kinder, and in 2006, won the Italian version of "Dancing with the Stars".
Later that year, she starred in the Italian television series "Butta la Luna",
a mini-series about racism and social integration. In 2007, Fiona won the
Special Jury Award at the Golden Globes in Italy for her performance in the
short film "Guinea Pig". She has since featured in multiple TV shows, movies
and toured the theatres all over Italy with the show "Maratona di New York".
Most recently she held a speech at the concert for Peace, conducted by
Federica Panicucci.
