Born in Ecuador, Kablito immigrated with her family in search of change and opportunity to a conservative town in Minnesota, not knowing how to speak English and being one of the few people of color in her school.  She went on to study music composition and education and taught herself to use Ableton, searching for ways to make a sound that could merge her two worlds.  Through sessions with friends and artists between NY and LA she eventually found her voice with the release of her debut “Telenovela” and has been expanding her sound ever since.  This debut opened the door to collaborations with producers such as Tainy, DVLP, and Samuel Kareem.  The subsequent release of her singles “Vete de Aqui” and “Yo Nunca Te Quise” a year later catapulted her career and put her on the radar of industry giants like J Balvin and C. Tangana.

“When I was a teenager, I didn’t have someone that I felt like I could look up to completely.  I never felt someone represented me.  I think we need to be more out there.” – Kablito

And that is precisely what she’s doing.
