Born in Ecuador, Kablito immigrated with her family in search of change and opportunity to a conservative town in Minnesota, not knowing how to speak English and being one of the few people of color in her school.  She went on to study music composition and education and taught herself to use Ableton, searching for ways to make a sound that could merge her two worlds.  Through sessions with friends and artists between NY and LA she eventually found her voice with the release of her debut “Telenovela” and has been expanding her sound ever since.  This debut opened the door to collaborations with producers such as Tainy, DVLP, and Samuel Kareem.  The subsequent release of her singles “Vete de Aqui” and “Yo Nunca Te Quise” a year later catapulted her career and put her on the radar of industry giants like J Balvin and C. Tangana.

Her fiercely unique sound blends the latin rhythms of her heritage with indie/pop sensibilities, fusing reggaeton and dancehall beats with lush, captivating melodies. Her second EP, Sentimental, received support by multiple US, Latin, and European publications, including I-D, Rolling Stone and HIGHXTAR. Through her work, Kablito seeks to break the existing barriers between Latin music and the Alternative space. Her ability to fuse her two worlds into music in such a fresh, and unique fashion, make her one of the most exciting new voices for Latin culture.
