Michael Workéyè

After receiving a DaDa scholarship to train at the prestigious Arts Education in London, Michael Workéyè was honoured with a first-class degree and selected to speak at his graduation. In his time there he won the Lilian Baylis award and was selected for the Spotlight prize, for which he penned his own entry monologue landing him his now agency Olivia Bell Management. His first jobs upon leaving were in the BAFTA award winning film ‘Sitting in limbo’ and opposite Ben Whishaw & Ambika Mod in ‘This Is Going To Hurt’ for the BBC. 

In 2022 Michael debuted in Beru Tessema’s first play at the Bush Theatre, in ‘House of ife’ directed by Lynette Linton. 

His stand out performance was nominated for both an Offie and the Stage Debut award. 

After being spotted in the show by Kate Rhodes James, Michael was cast as Archer in the brand new period comedy ‘My Lady Jane’ for Amazon Prime Video, garnering high praise from fans and critics with an impressive 94% on rotten tomatoes. 

Most recently Michael was at the Royal Exchange in Phoebe Eclaire-Powell’s Bruntwood award winning play ‘Shed’ & has shot a five part thriller for Disney + with Ambika Mod, Jim Sturgess, Denise Gough & Holiday Grainger called ‘Playdate’. He’s worked with Duncan Jones on the highly anticipated motion capture picture ‘Rogue Trooper’ & plays Billy Fox in the 1940’s show ‘Bookish’ with Mark Gatiss for CBS. Most recently Michael has finished filming ‘the Girlfriend’ opposite Robin Wright for Amazon Prime video. 

It has just been announced Michael will star in Black Mirror season 7 for Netflix. All five projects are yet to be released. 

He is currently filming 'Inspector Lynley' for the BBC playing DC Tony Bekele in Dublin until December.
