Sang Woo Kim was born in Seoul in 1994, moved to London with his family in 1995, and now con-siders himself ‘British - Korean’. Sang was interested in the arts from a young age and did his art degree
at Central Saint Martins in 2012 where the likes of Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Riccardo Tisci all studied. He then went on to study fine art at Goldsmiths College and launched himself as a working
artist soon after.
Select Model Management was delighted to take Sang on in 2013 and his modeling career took off straight away; not only was Sang the first Asian model to ever walk the runway for Burberry, he quickly
went onto become one of the most recognised young faces in the modeling industry today. Ranked in the ‘Top 50 Male Models’ on models.com, he has walked the runways for many of the most prestigious
high-fashion designers and has starred in major global campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hifiger, Armani, DKNY and Diesel to name a few. In 2014 Sang Woo starred in a shoot for British VOGUE
shot by Tim Walker and was chosen by Kate Moss as `one-to-watch`, shooting alongside Cara Delevinge, Beth Ditto, Jamie Hawkesworth, Pixie Geldof and many more incredible talents.
Sang has also managed to make significant movements as an artist. In 2014 he collaborated with the major London department store Harvey Nichols where he created a documental photography series during
the men’s shows. He also has been featured and interviewed as an artist for magazines such as W, VOGUE, DAZED, Teen VOGUE, GQ and many other notable magazines. He also exhibited his work
recently in London, sponsored by Red Bull.
Last year he was extremely humbled by the opportunity to sell his paintings for a charity auction held by Sotheby’s in partnership with the art publication `Avenir`. Recently, the 22 year old has collaborated
with London menswear designer Daniel. W. Fletcher on his most current collection where Sang designed prints and embroideries for limited edition garments. He is also set to release an ongoing weekly
photography series which includes his artwork and photography for W magazine which is launching in the near future.
